This offering is a Dark Red Moss Agate Northern Point By:Sparrow a modern
flintknapper. This point is a Brown Agate Meserve knapped by sparrow. This is a late Paleo Point from the Dalton family. The agate looks black without light passing through it but asually it's an unusual brown. One corner is glass clear and a red band separates it from the brown. Measures 3 3/8 inches by 7/8 inch. Note from the Sparrow: The agate came in a shipment of brazilian agate so I guess that is what it is, but it sure makes me wonder though, it knapped unlike any rock I can remember working and is perhaps the toughest agate I have ever met. Hand knapped using stone, bone antler and copper tools ground pre-forms are NEVER used by this knapper..
